Natalie has returned to Malaysia as an observer for the criminalisation of environmental defenders and also to lend support to our 15 comrades who are charged for participating in the “622 Shut Down Lynas” protest in front of the Lynas plant in Gebeng on 22nd June, who will face the second hearing on 2nd Sept 2014 in the Kuantan court.

The barring of Natalie is totally unjust and it’s a shameful moment for the country especially on this Merdeka Day.

It is ironic that Lynas, who poses such immense threat to the health and wellbeing of our people is allowed into our country, but not Natalie, someone who fights to protect the wellbeing of the people of Malaysia.

Kick out Lynas, Not Natalie !

Our green comrade from Australia, Natalie Lowrey or ‘Nat’ as most of us fondly call her, has been arrested by the police during the ‘Shutdown Lynas’ campaign on Sunday, 22 June 2014 right at the doorstep of Lynas in Gebeng, Pahang.
　
Natalie is currently being held in a lock up at Kuantan District Police Headquarters.

Until now, the police has not been able to provide reasonable explanation beyond ‘still investigating’ on why she is still being detained. It is also heartbreaking for us to know that the condition of the lockup is extremely harsh, having to share with more than 20 inmates and with no access to even basic necessities like clean drinking water, bed, towels, etc.

We therefore appeal that the police immediately release her, drop all charges against her and allow her to return to Australia safely.

Be there, at 9-10pm tonight, outside the Kuantan District Police Headquarters, in solidarity to appeal for the immediate release of Natalie Lowrey!

**Natalie has been an environmental campaigner for the past 16 years and she has been actively involved in the Stop Lynas Incorporation (SLI) in Australia for the past 3 years. She was present in Gebeng, Kuantan on behalf of the SLI to lend solidarity and support to the local community and people of Kuantan.

我们来自澳洲的绿色战友─Natalie Lowrey，或者是“Nat”，这是我们大多数人对她的亲切称呼。自从于2014年6月22日（周日）在格宾莱纳斯厂前的“终结莱纳斯”运动中被警方逮捕后，就一直被扣押在关丹警区总部。

对于迄今仍未释放的Natalie，警方除了提供“正在进行调查”的理由之外，再也无法针对她的扣押给予更进一步和确切的解释。当知道她现在处于的扣留所的环境条件是如此苛刻，我们的心是如此的痛。她不仅与逾20名扣留者共室，更无法获得基本用品，包括清洁的食用水、床铺，以及毛巾等等。

因此，我们呼吁警方立即释放她，并撤销对她的所有指控，允许她安全返回澳洲。

让我们一起出席今晚9-10点钟，在关丹警区总部大门外举行的烛光声援活动，要求警方马上释放NATALIE LOWREY！！
