Our green comrade Natalie Lowrey, has just been refused entry into Malaysia! She is now being held up by the Malaysian immigration at KLIA and will be deported.

Natalie has returned to Malaysia as an observer for the criminalisation of environmental defenders and also to lend support to our 15 comrades who are charged for participating in the “622 Shut Down Lynas” protest in front of the Lynas plant in Gebeng on 22nd June, who will face the second hearing on 2nd Sept 2014 in the Kuantan court.

The barring of Natalie is totally unjust and it’s a shameful moment for the country especially on this Merdeka Day.

It is ironic that Lynas, who poses such immense threat to the health and wellbeing of our people is allowed into our country, but not Natalie, someone who fights to protect the wellbeing of the people of Malaysia.

Kick out Lynas, Not Natalie !

“It was such a relief to see Natalie finally being released. For the past few days, so many people, not only those from Kuantan, but from across the nation and Australia, have came forward to stand in solidarity with us. We appreciate all the well wishes, prayers and words of encouragement as well as support.

Our spirit remain strong and we are still committed to fight on. We know it’s getting close. The key now is to have more people standing together and standing closer. We’ll do this together.
