When Wong Tack went to his car after a CNY dinner with comrades in Karak last night, he was dismayed to find one of his car windows smashed. The army green backpack he had left in car was gone!

The bagpack contained many items, which to others are of no value, but to him means the world. The backpack itself, although worn and torn now, has its sentimental value. It has served him loyally and followed him everywhere throughout the past 5 years of his struggle.
Wong Tack hopes his backpack can be returned to him.

If by any chance you’ve seen or found the backpack, please kindly pm us at : https://www.facebook.com/Wong-Tack-122457974452808/

Thank you! <>

Pahang coast affected by bauxite mining ‘doomed for three years’, says scientist

The bauxite-contaminated red sea off the Pahang coastal area is bound to be a “dead sea” for up to three years.

“While it is possible for marine life to breed in the area after three years, they would still be in a polluted habitat.”

Harinder said the organisms would adapt to the waters but the number of species in the area would be fewer and toxin would still be present in their system.

He said the damage would not stop there as the toxin absorbed by marine life would then be passed on in the food chain.
