A friend sent me this photo of a tree I planted almost 20 years ago in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
Initiated and led two tree-planting projects during my tenure as a Town Councillor in Lahad Datu – The Malaysia Book of Records record-breaking “Planting 12,600 Trees in One Minute” project in 1998 and the “Anugerah untuk Tanahairku” millennium project where 10,000 school children were recruited to nurse 10,000 seedlings as a National Day gift to the Majlis Daerah Lahad Datu.
I’m glad I was able to contribute to the transformation of the Lahad Datu urban landscape.
