“The Geothermal energy project, the first in Malaysia, was announced in 2011 with the full support of the Sabah Environmental Protection Association (SEPA), during which I was the President. The people of Sabah, particularly the community of Tawau were so proud at that time. Sadly, more than 3 years after the announcement, no one knows what’s happening to the project. What we can only see are truckloads of timber being carted out from the site which is part of Sabah’s pristine park reserve.
