Hold a ‘true’ public hearing on Lynas, Wong Tack tells ministry

“We want to ask why there has been no transparency over the last few years, about information we cannot access regarding the approval process, and about the operating process in the Lynas plant.

“This hearing also did not give the people an opportunity to engage in dialogue and openly question the approving authorities. Until today, we still have no free access to their information.”

Don’t twist my words, Wong Tack tells Ti

Press statement of Wong Tack, Chairman of Pakatan Harapan Bentong on 4th March 2018 in Bentong

Ti Lian Ker is urged to look into the “tolerance of corruption” of MCA and stop twisting my words and take my statement out of context
==============================

I read the criticism made by MCA Publicity spokesman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker against my comment to FMT reporter earlier with great amusement. He deliberately chose to twist my observation which was actually in reference to the behaviour of some big- time Chinese businessmen who were close to BN/MCA on corruption. His twist is now to accuse me of misrepresenting the qualities of the Chinese community in general that they could accept some form of corruption.

Ti’s statement is a great distortion on my comment to the FMT reporter earlier on Chinese business towards corruption. What I told the reporter was in reference to the general attitude of some big time Chinese business people who were close to MCA and the BN government and never about the Chinese community in general.

I must stress that the vast majority of the Chinese community in Malaysia are against corruption, that’s the reason of why most of them supported the DAP and not MCA and BN which have been seen as involving and condoning corruption. And that’s the reason of why I chose to join DAP and contest under the DAP’s ticket against Liow Tiong Lai, the President of MCA in the General Elections of 2013.

Ti Liang Ker should know very well about the elements of corruption by some of his own party members and leaders. It is the MCA leaders who accept the tolerance of corruption and not the Chinese community.

It is so obvious when there is a deafening silence on the part of MCA leaders when todate, they have not said anything on a series of high profile financial scandals which cost billion of ringgit of the taxpayers’ money, such as the 1MDB scandal, Felda scandal, Mara property scandal in Australia, NFC scandal and etc.

On top of that, MCA leaders have not taken a clear stand in the PKFZ scandal which involved the former Presidents of MCA. Worst still the former MCA ADUN Lee Hwa Beng was sacked from MCA due to his criticism against BN over the PKFZ scandal.

Ti Lian Ker is urged to look into his own MCA backyard and stop twisting my words.
