Please note how serious the bauxite issue is in Pahang. Here we have lead, aluminium and mercury poisoning to contend with. Not to mention that we endure a monsoon season where polluted water can be carried directly to the people.

The Pahang government should heed the example of the wide scale poisoning of the people of Flint, Michigan from lead in their drinking water.

Lebih mengejutkan, lesen pembalakan dikeluarkan kpd PASDEC, iaitu anak syarikat milik penuh Kerajaaan Negeri Pahang yg sepatutnya bergiat dlm bidang pembangunan hartanah dan ekonomi… bukan pembalakan! Siapa di belakang semua ini? Mengapa mereka langsung tidak mengambil iktibar drp kejadian banjir lumpur dan tanah runtuh di Lentang baru-baru ini?

He added that DOE tests show that the raw water of Sungai Riau – which is the source water intake for Bukit Goh – had mercury levels higher than 0.0001 mg/L.
“At 0.0093 mg/L the concentration of mercury is nine times above the recommended level for raw water.
“Such raw water sources should not be used for drinking water source, irrespective of whether the water can be treated or not,” he said.
