Came back from ‘Down Under’ only to find Kuantan ‘GONE UNDER’. This is not the first time it had happened.
This calls for immediate serious attention and action from our elected representatives. We hope they
have not forgotten the reason the people elected them, which is trust. We believe they can do a better job than the current regime. The root cause of the problem (eg. Anyone destroy the catchment area?) must be identified and a proper solution proposal for the government must be put together. Don’t just point fingers at a government who has not been functioning for decades.
We are grateful that they have ‘visited’ the flood victims and tried to ‘debate’ the issue in parliament. But I do wonder, whether they, especially the elected reps of the constituency concerned, have paid a visit to the Lynas plant in Gebeng? Are they worried how the flood has affected one of the biggest radioactive rare earth refinery plant in the world?
The people of Kuantan want a permanent solution to this problem, not a temporary relief.
