The case of our 15 green comrades who are unlawfully charged for participating in the peaceful assembly against Lynas (622 Shutdown Lynas) on 22nd June will be up for mention again tomorrow, 2nd September 2014, at 9am at the Kuantan court.

We call upon all to be present at the court house tomorrow to stand in solidarity against intimidation, oppression and injustice against responsible citizens of Malaysia who have courageously step forward.

Our green comrade Natalie Lowrey, has ju…

Our green comrade Natalie Lowrey, has just been refused entry into Malaysia! She is now being held up by the Malaysian immigration at KLIA and will be deported.

Natalie has returned to Malaysia as an observer for the criminalisation of environmental defenders and also to lend support to our 15 comrades who are charged for participating in the “622 Shut Down Lynas” protest in front of the Lynas plant in Gebeng on 22nd June, who will face the second hearing on 2nd Sept 2014 in the Kuantan court.

The barring of Natalie is totally unjust and it’s a shameful moment for the country especially on this Merdeka Day.

It is ironic that Lynas, who poses such immense threat to the health and wellbeing of our people is allowed into our country, but not Natalie, someone who fights to protect the wellbeing of the people of Malaysia.

Kick out Lynas, Not Natalie !

LIVEBLOG FROM MALAYSIA: Campaign to shut down Australian toxic dumper Lynas | Green Left Weekly

Thanks to Peter Boyle at Green Left Weekly for supporting our work to Shut Down Lynas here in Malaysia with the following blog, please follow and Tully Starr and we will also try and keep you all updated. Today we head to Bukit Merah near Ipoh. In the 1980s Asian Rare Earths project caused radioactive pollution and health problems for the community. The rare earth refinery was shut down by 1992 but there is still a legacy of waste – this is why Lynas rare earth refinery must be shut down so history isn’t repeated in Malaysia!

When I saw the state of our green cyclis…

When I saw the state of our green cyclists yesterday, totally exhausted and burn out after only 5 days into their 39 days sacred mission, I decided that I will pedal with them. The stretch that I have chosen, the 100km Taiping-Penang, is one of the longest. I don’t know how far I can go but, as in everything I do, I will give my 100%. I hope my participation will give a bit of courage and added energy to the cyclists to continue to push forward. – Wong Tack

“長達39天的神聖使命已經歷了5天,當我昨天看到綠色騎士們筋疲力竭的狀態時,下定決心與他們同行,而我所選擇從太平到檳城的100公里路線,是其中一段最長的旅程。儘管我不知道自己到底可以騎得多遠,但一如既往為自己所做的一切全力以赴。我希望自己的參與能給騎士們一點鼓勵和補充能量,繼續挺進。” ~ 黃德
