I know many of you are home on the eve of the Lunar New Year. Let us put in a little bit of effort to contribute to this country in this moment of celebration. Go to the post office in your hometown and get yourself registered as a voter. Your hometown needs you. I will be in my hometown this year. Will be waiting for you at the Bentong post office from 9:30am to 3:30pm, 27 Jan 2017.

除夕，是合家团圆的日子，游子都从外地回到家乡，带着满满的孝心与祝福，准备与家人共度一个快乐年。然而，我在这里有个小小的请求，如果你已经满21岁，希望你能够在除夕日抽出10分钟，到你附近的邮政局，登记成为选民。
今年的新年几乎让人提不起劲来，新年气氛也前所未有的冷淡。如今国家被盗贼统治，贪污腐败猖狂、种族主义横行、环境被无限度地开发肆虐；做生意的，被GST打击到体无完肤，行情冷得发抖；打工的，薪水日渐微薄，生活苦不堪言。过完新年开工，残酷的生活现实将让我们每一个人被压得喘不过气，这个国家的未来，是暗淡的。
没有国，哪有家？每一个人的一小步，就是这个国家的一大步。让我告诉你，在420万名未登记的选民里，有120万名是华裔，这是一个惊人的数字。根据统计，上届大选，其实反对党只需要多5万张选票，就能挫败国阵的肮脏手段，促成改朝换代，但到最后我们却功亏一篑。
历史不能重来，但我们却能改变未来，我们值得拥有一个更好的政府，我本人将会在除夕当天，在文冬邮政局驻守，等候文冬的朋友前来。其他全国各地的朋友，我再次请求你，拿出10分钟的时间，与亲朋戚友到您地方的邮政局登记成为选民，在来届大选投下致胜的一票，这样新的一年，才能真正充满新的希望。

3 weeks ago, I visited a community in the rural area. I saw hardcore poor families not receiving welfare. Families with orphaned young children, handicapped children, old people with chronic illnesses. It was heartbreaking.
